Matthew 22:36-40. Master, which is the great commandment in the law? Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

After a year of living in Los Angeles, I have verified that Spanish is the second most spoken language. This is an advantage for Hispanic Immigrants because they can communicate in their native language to request information and ask for help, however, it is also a disadvantage because in most jobs they are required to speak English, when this happens, they get frustrated and many even fall into a state of depression, because quality work and all the benefits that come from having it such as food, clothing, housing, education, etc. It largely depends on whether they speak the English language.

Another aspect that is deeply affected is their self-esteem because not having access to quality jobs because they don't speak English makes them feel second-rate and worthless.

Why don't they learn to speak English?

  1. I have found that for the 18 to 30-year-old population the most important factor is time and money. Although it is true that there are some programs for them to learn, these do not fit their schedules because they have to do some work to survive and, on the other hand, the options that are available have a monthly cost that they cannot afford.

  2. For the adult population. Some newcomers do not give priority to learning English because they need to immediately find a job to survive, a lady told me in a restaurant that she worked from Monday to Sunday until late in the afternoon, that the jobs with the best hours are for the English speaking people.

With the English for Hispanic Immigrants program we hope to achieve:

  1. Provide an opportunity for them to learn the English language and to fit their schedules    by combining online and face-to-face classes.

  2. With the teaching of the English language, help them to have confidence to access    better jobs and therefore a better quality of life for themselves and their families.

  3. Give them the gospel and the opportunity to incorporate the biblical values of faith,    hope and love into their lifestyle so that they have the opportunity for an integral transformation

  4. Follow up with them to join our church for Hispanics LA Rock.worthless.

People are not a project, they are the reason Christ died to save. The following parameters of progress are intended to put the person as loved and benefited by God

  1. Recording the number of people enrolled in the English course

  2. Recording testimonials from people about how learning the English language is helping them

  3. Recording the number of people who accept Christ as their Savior

  4. Recording the number of people who join the LA Rock Hispanic Church
